KYC & AML Policy
This policy applies to everyone who opens a New Brunswick Casino account or moves money through it. It covers registration, your first deposit, every withdrawal and the full life of your account.
Why do we verify players?
We serve players only where local law allows, in line with Canadian requirements on age, identity checks and anti-money laundering. Verification establishes that each player is an adult aged 19+, is the person they claim to be and uses their own funds. It also shields your account from fraud and stops criminal money from reaching our games.
- We finish Know Your Customer (KYC) checks before accepting your first deposit.
- During play, a geolocation check confirms that you are in an area where play is permitted.
- Deposits and withdrawals are handled in Canadian dollars (CAD).
What happens if my verification fails?
- Until checks are complete, you cannot deposit, play or withdraw.
- Pending withdrawals are held while we look into any mismatch.
- We close your account if your documents appear forged, belong to someone else or reveal that you are under 19.
- Winnings linked to false information or fraud are void.
- Where the law requires it, we report the activity to the relevant Canadian authorities.
How do you verify my identity and age?
When you register, you provide your full name, your date of birth and your home address. These details are compared with trusted electronic data sources. Where they do not match completely, we will ask for documents, and you can upload them securely through your account:
- Photo identification: a valid passport or driver's licence where your face, name and date of birth are clearly visible.
- Address confirmation: a utility bill or bank statement dated within recent months, with your home address shown on it.
- Payment ownership: proof that each payment method you use, whether a bank account, a card or an e-wallet, is in your name, with every card number hidden except for the last few digits.
When do you check source of funds?
We may ask for proof of the source of your funds if your deposits or play increase sharply or appear not to fit what we know about you. Examples include payslips, bank statements, or records of an inheritance or property sale. Play may be paused while we examine this evidence.
Do you keep monitoring my account?
Yes. Checks continue after you are verified. We monitor transactions for patterns connected to money laundering or fraud, such as:
- Cashing out shortly after depositing, with very little play in between
- Frequent switching between payment methods
- Several accounts linked through one holder, one device or one payment method
- Activity that does not fit your verified profile
If anything looks unusual, we may run checks again, request updated documents or restrict the account during our investigation.
Which records are kept, and what must be reported?
Records of your transactions, the results of our verification checks and your ID documents are held in secure, access-restricted storage for the period Canadian law requires. Where we have a legal obligation, we notify the appropriate Canadian authorities of suspicious or large activity, and the law may forbid us to disclose to the player that such a report exists. See How We Handle Your Data to learn how your information is stored and protected.
Do you check for PEP status or sanctions?
At registration and at regular intervals afterwards, we check every player against sanctions lists and politically exposed person (PEP) databases. Being identified as a PEP does not prevent you from playing, but it triggers enhanced checks, which may include proof of your source of funds. Anyone appearing on a sanctions list cannot open or hold an account with us.
How do I contact us?
If you have a question about verification, the documents you have submitted or a withdrawal currently on hold, write to mail@newbrunswickcasino.app using the email registered to your account. Only send documents by email when our team has asked for them. Further account rules are set out in our Terms & Conditions.
